The art of tasting tequila

Tequila is unique to Mexico. Nowhere else in the world is this drink allowed to be made. It is deeply rooted in Mexican culture. With a home tasting, you will learn more about this, but you will also discover the craftsmanship behind each bottle.

Without the blue agave plant, there is no tequila. This plant grows for several years before it is harvested. The heart of the plant, the so-called piña, is cooked in steam ovens, releasing inulin. This is a type of starch that is ultimately converted into alcohol during fermentation. For that, a piña must first be pressed or crushed.

Depending on the aging process, different styles emerge: a blanco tequila is bottled immediately, while a reposado or añejo ages in oak barrels for months to years, which adds depth and complexity.
